Hydrocotyle tripartita will grow happily as a low carpeting plant in high light, however it can also be trained to grow up and along rocks and branches to give it an interesting vine like appearance, once again making it different to most other aquarium plants.
Hydrocotyle tripartita is native to Australia and is found in shallow water, along the edge of the water line, so you will find this plant requires medium to high light to keep it happy in an aquarium environment.
Hydrocotyle tripartita will also grow quite happily in a terrarium environment however we recommend something along the lines of a misting device to keep the plant damp and ensure it doesn’t dry out.
Hardiness – easy, although does require medium lighting
Light needs – Medium to high
Growth rate – medium
Co2 – not required
