Nimbochromis are large heavily patterned fish with good camouflaging, in nature they are adept at feeding on small fish. They are very hardy fish with strong appetites, well suited to Malawi aquariums containing other robust types. Juvenile and female Fuscotaeniatus are strongly patterned with brown scribbling, whereas mature males have a blue head and multicoloured body. They usually grow to 20-25cm.
